Re-Elect Sharan Kaur as the School Board Member from Trustee Area 3 to represent you on the New Haven Unified School District. She has the compassion, insight and perseverance to continue to serve the students and families of New Haven and help get the district through challenging times.

Sharan’s compassion drives her vision and her strong insight allows her to tackle challenging and ambiguous issues. She relies on her strong analytical skills and data driven approach in making decisions. Sharan’s perseverance allows her to stay focused and deliver results in the best interest of the students. Her strength and skills are even more critical now as we face challenges posed by decline in education funding and Covid-19 Pandemic.

“My four years on the board has taught me to understand and respect the diversity of opinions. Irrespective of the differences, I strive to maintain my focus on the long-term interest of the students. The current pandemic has reinforced the value of families and communities. I am even more hopeful and determined to continue to make our community even more robust and provide our students an equitable and better future. I can’t do this alone and would request your support of my re-election campaign.”

I am an educator by profession and have lived in Union City for 42 years. Both of my children grew up attending schools within the New Haven Unified School District (K-12). With that said, I strongly believe Sharan Kaur is a friend in our community and I fully support her re-election to the New Haven Unified School District Board. Sharan grew up attending schools in this district, and since becoming NHUSD school board member in 2016, she has worked tirelessly for the children, families and schools here. She brings a passion for equity, a willingness and interest in diving deeply into issues before taking action, and of course a passion for quality education for all children. I am proud to support Sharan Kaur in her campaign for re-election to the NHUSD School Board."
